The bill enacts key reforms that will bring transparency, reliability, efficiency, and regulatory certainty to the permitting process for cross-border energy infrastructure such as pipelines and electric transmission lines.

WASHINGTON— Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) is glad to announce that the 15th District of Texas will participate in the third Congressional App Challenge (CAC), an app competition for students in high school and below.

The Challenge will run from July 26 through November 1, 2017. The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience. We strongly encourage students of all levels to participate and practice on creating their own apps.

GEORGE WEST, TX— Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) joined thirty members of the Texas Farm Bureau at the Live Oak County Fairgrounds in George West on Wednesday to discuss the cattle fever tick outbreak and other issues important to South Texas farmers and ranchers. Texas Farm Bureau State Director, Zack Yanta, of Karnes County in the congressman's district, introduced Congressman Gonzalez before the group.

WASHINGTON—Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced that he will co-chair the Blue Dog Coalition's Task Force on National Defense. The task force will proactively promote a strong national defense, improve the lives of our service members and veterans, and ensure American global leadership.

SEGUIN, TX—Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's Health Resources and Services Administration has awarded Texas Lutheran University (TLU) more than $490,000 in federal funds. The grant comes from the Department's Nursing Workforce Diversity program and will help fund training and mentorship initiatives within TLU's Department of Nursing.

WESLACO, TX—Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded $93,058 in federal funds to IDEA Public Schools in Weslaco as part of the Department's Farm to School Grant program. This implementation grant will enable IDEA to create its "Garden in a Box" toolkit which helps the schools promote the Healthy Kids Here initiative and increase student participation in farming and gardening. This is the second grant IDEA has received from the program.
