Congressman Gonzalez Issues Statement on Shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued the following statement in response to the shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, that left multiple dead and injured.

"My heart goes out to those affected by today's shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, that has left multiple people dead and many more injured. As one of the representatives for Wilson County, this senseless tragedy hits close to home and feels deeply personal," Congressman Gonzalez said. "I thank all first responders for acting swiftly to address this unfortunate situation and will continue to be in contact with the Wilson County Sheriff's Office and federal law enforcement agencies as more details become available. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families and the fine people of Sutherland Springs and Wilson County."
