Congressman Gonzalez to Participate in Award-Winning McAllen Holiday Parade
MCALLEN, Texas – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) will participate in this year's McAllen Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Congressman Gonzalez will join Mayor Jim Darling and several current and former Dallas Cowboys players, including: DeMarcus Lawrence and Ryan Switzer; former wide receiver and four-time Super Bowl Champion, Tony Hill; and former running back and Heisman Trophy winner, Tony Dorsett.
"Each year our community looks forward to the McAllen Holiday Parade and it is an honor to participate this year," Congressman Gonzalez said. "With the largest illuminated holiday and helium balloons in the state, the parade is a sight to be seen. I look forward to kicking off the holiday season with the City of McAllen at this special event."
Earlier this year, the McAllen Holiday Parade was named the Best Parade in the World in 2017, by the International Festivals & Events Association, and the Best Parade in Texas in 2017, by the Texas Festivals & Events Association. The parade will begin at the McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m. CST and head south on Bicentennial Boulevard to U.S. Business 83. The McAllen Holiday Parade will feature 50 lighted floats, 40 inflatable character balloons, as well live music to comply with this year's Entertainment on Parade theme.
