As chairman of the Congressional Oil and Gas Caucus, Congressman Gonzalez aims to bring a Texas perspective to Washington, D.C., regarding the oil and gas industry. He leads the caucus as an opportunity to educate fellow lawmakers about the production and distribution of oil, gas and other petroleum hydrocarbons, including crude oil, natural gas and gas liquids.
Congressman Gonzalez is proud to represent a thriving agricultural community. The 34th District of Texas is home to the King Ranch and a diverse array of produce, specialty crops, and livestock operations. The district is known for its citrus, cotton, sugarcane, sorghum, and cattle ranching operations.
Congressman Gonzalez has a proven record of supporting agricultural research, trade assistance, and robust crop insurance and disaster assistance programs that offer farmers and ranchers the resources to succeed.
Congressman Gonzalez is a voice for American consumers and an advocate for fiscally responsible policies that encourage economic growth and job creation in South Texas. He supports updating our nation's tax regime so that all Americans benefit from the nation's tax system equitably. He also supports reducing barriers for folks entering and moving up in the workforce, such as lowering the cost of education and increasing access to childcare.

All South Texans deserve access to affordable, quality health care, including those who live in rural communities and medically underserved areas. Unfortunately, South Texas is home to a large uninsured or underinsured population. Congressman Gonzalez continues to work with his colleagues to develop innovative ideas that lower health care costs and provide better coverage for more people.
For decades, Medicare and Social Security have helped millions of Americans retire comfortably after a lifetime of work. As a country, we made a promise to protect our elderly and ensure they would have reliable access to the resources and support that they earned. Now more than ever, we cannot abandon our seniors when their resources, and ultimately their independence is threatened.
Congressman Gonzalez is committed to ensuring South Texans can travel and transport goods safely throughout the region. This means providing robust federal funding for the construction, maintenance, repair, and expansion of our infrastructure.
The 34th District encompasses the Naval Air Station Kingsville and runs adjacent to the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, and Corpus Christi Army Depot. There are also three National Guard facilities located in Congressman Gonzalez's district and multiple companies that play a role in the defense supply chain. The Lonestar State is home to 15 major military installations, several defense manufacturers, and nearly one in ten servicemembers.
