WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is accepting applications for the Rural Broadband Access Loan and Loan Guarantee Program. Created by the 2002 Farm Bill and reauthorized in the 2014 Farm Bill, these loans assist eligible rural communities construct, improve, and extend the reach of vital broadband infrastructure.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting applications for Telemedicine grants. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, June 4, 2018.

"The ability to connect rural areas with healthcare providers is a game changer for communities throughout the country," Congressman Gonzalez said. "Grants like this can connect South Texans to 21st century healthcare services that can improve their quality of life."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) has announced that the U.S. Census Bureau will be accepting applications for a Partnership Specialist in Hidalgo County, Texas, from April 19 – May 4, 2018, or at 11:59 p.m. EST/10:59 p.m. CST on the date the first 50 applications are received. In order to be considered, applicants must be current residents of Hidalgo County

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) almost $250,000 in federal funding for the Symposium for Advancing STEM Latinas in Academic Careers. The federal funds will be made available to UTRGV on August 1, 2018.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the fiscal year 2018 Consolidated Appropriations Act funded critical USDA programs that help to combat Citrus Greening Disease at all-time high levels. The bill appropriated $10.5 and $57 million for the Huanglongbing Multiagency Coordination Group (HLB-MAC) and the Citrus Health Response Program (CHRP) respectively.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) sent a letter to President Donald J. Trump regarding the deportation of U.S. Army veteran, Miguel Perez-Montes Jr., to Mexico. In his letter to President Trump, Congressman Gonzalez reminded the president about discussions the two had about the importance of protecting U.S. veterans in May and June of 2017.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued the following statement in response to the deployment of the National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border:

"Our policies must be rooted in facts – not fiction – and in reality – not rhetoric," Congressman Gonzalez said. "The reality is that despite our area recently seeing a historic drop in crime and illegal entries, our federal agencies are intentionally misusing information to justify a strategy based in political rhetoric.
