WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) is encouraging eligible applicants to apply for community development grants from Texas Rural Communities, Inc. (TRC) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency.

"Every dollar of federal funding can help with development projects in South Texas rural communities," Congressman Gonzalez said. "Awards from Texas Rural Communities can elevate these regions and provide every resident in the 15th District of Texas with the tools necessary to strengthen their communities."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced that the National Institute of Aging (NIA), under the direction of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the National Institute of Health (NIH), has awarded $657,603 to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's (UTRGV) Alzheimer's Disease Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (AD-RCMAR). The NIA awarded UTRGV $3,276,391 to establish the Partnerships for Progress Center.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued the following statement in response to the administration's announcement concerning the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

"I look forward to reviewing the details of this preliminary agreement and to working with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, incoming Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to reach a final agreement with our partners in Canada.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) is encouraging eligible small and rural towns in the 15th District of Texas to apply for cooperative agreement funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Rural Economic Development Innovation (REDI) initiative.

The USDA is planning to award up to $750,000 for REDI initiatives that hold the potential to develop long-term planning for economic growth to small and rural towns in the 15th District of Texas.
