WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today sent a follow-up letter to Ivanka Trump, First Daughter and Advisor to the President of the United States, renewing her invitation to visit the U.S.-Mexico Border and meet the children and families impacted by the administration's zero-tolerance policy. This letter also invites Ms. Trump to work together on bipartisan solutions that address the push factors for irregular migration – years of failed American foreign policy.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) is encouraging Hidalgo County homeowners affected by recent severe storms and flooding to apply for available disaster relief grants from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas). The bank is allocating $500,000, at a potential $10,000 per household, to assist South Texans with recovery and rebuilding efforts. These funds do not require repayment.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced that the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) has awarded $239,713 to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). This funding will fuel a partnership between UTRGV's mathematical sciences units with those of the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced that the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has awarded a $70,000 grant to Brooks County for lighting improvements at the Brooks County Airport.

"Better quality aviation facilities means better business," Congressman Gonzalez said. "I look forward to these airport improvements representing a more streamlined flow of economic development directly to South Texas."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced today that the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) has received $1,480,002 in funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to stimulate the university's Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Program and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) wrote to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality expressing concerns with Post Oak Clean Green Inc.'s landfill permit application, which will be heard by the Commission tomorrow, Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in Austin. The proposed landfill site is located at 7787 FM 1150, approximately 12.1 miles east of Seguin and just south of Interstate Highway 10.
