This bipartisan bill would lower costs while increasing coverage for homeowners and property owners in high-risk flood areas and improve the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

“We must ensure that Israel receives the urgent aid it needs to protect its people from further attacks. It is because of this urgency that I cannot in good conscience vote on a bill that has no chance of passing the Senate and that the President has declared he would veto.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Earlier this month, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) and Congressman Andrew Garbarino (NY-02) introduced H.R. 5837, the Protecting America's Property Rights Act. This bipartisan bill would protect prospective homebuyers by requiring title insurance on mortgages purchased by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Garbarino (NY-02) led a bipartisan letter to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell requesting an update on FEMA’s implementation of an installment payment system to allow all National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policyholders to pay premiums in monthly installments instead of on an annual basis.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) announced $5 million for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) from the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DOD) Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation. This funding is possible through the Defense Manufacturing Community Support Program, whose mission is to increase national security through community investment efforts.
