WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced that the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) has awarded $1,278,922 to Texas RioGrande Legal Aid to offer disaster legal services to Hurricane Harvey survivors.

"This funding from the Legal Services Corporation is critical for the many Texans still dealing with the effects of Hurricane Harvey," Congressman Gonzalez said. "The services offered will allow every Harvey survivor to remain resilient and present the opportunity for full recovery."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) has co-sponsored H.R. 6933, the Equal Treatment of Public Servants Act of 2018, that makes sure that teachers, firefighters, and police officers will receive a Social Security benefit that reflects their actual work history.

The bill also provides critical relief to public servants who are already retired and are affected by the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP), which uses an arbitrary, one-size-fits-all formula for certain public servants.
