WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced $99,889,491 in preliminary Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19) Title I formula allocations funds for Local Educational Agencies (LEA) in the Rio Grande Valley. The U.S. Department of Education will release final totals in June 2019.
Title I funding assists schools in their efforts to provide students with fair, equal, and significant opportunities to obtain a high-quality education and reach state academic achievement standards and academic assessment goals.
WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued the following statement in response to President Donald J. Trump's announcement to join efforts to reopen the federal government, ending the longest-ever government shutdown – 35 days – in history. The continuing resolution will extend government funding for three weeks until February 15, 2019, and provide backpay to federal employees who have missed paychecks since December 22, 2018.
