WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced $109,118,263 in final Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20) Title I formula allocations funds for Local Educational Agencies (LEA) in the Rio Grande Valley from the U.S. Department of Education.

Title I Grants to local school districts are intended to ensure that the most financially and socially disadvantaged children have an equal opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach proficiency on state academic assessments.

MCALLEN, Texas – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced a U.S. Department of Health and Human Service federal grant of $95,455 for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Area Health Education Centers Program to combat COVID-19.

This grant will help UTRGV expand its capacity to provide services for those affected by COVID-19 and additional health care for rural communities.

WASHINGTON - Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) joined Congressmen Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) and Roger Williams (R-TX) in a bipartisan effort to support the live entertainment industry, which has been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a letter to Congressional leadership, Gonzalez, along with 93 other members of Congress, called for a targeted legislative action to support the industry as Congress continues negotiations on the next emergency relief bill.
