Congressman Gonzalez Statement on Judge’s Decision on U.S. Census Operations

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez issued a statement following the news that a federal judge ordered the U.S. Census Bureau to cease winding down Census operations early:

"We need to continue the Census count as long as constitutionally possible in order to ensure that everyone is accurately counted. Billions of dollars in federal funding for public schools, hospitals, and libraries are on the line for the 15th District of Texas and other communities across the United States. Thankfully the Court upheld the Constitution and our laws in the face of Trump's blatant attempts to undercount our Latinx population."
