WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that South Texas College will receive $6,803,772 from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, a U.S. Department of Education program created by the CARES Act that Congressman Gonzalez helped pass. This funding will allow institutions of higher education to continue to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Department of Education has released the final formula allocations for these funds, which were preliminarily announced in March 2022.
