WASHINGTON – Congressmen Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15), Filemon Vela (TX-34), and Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Office of Head Start has awarded a continuation grant of $27,236,014 to Hidalgo County Head Start. This grant will help implement comprehensive child development programs that prepare young students, ages three to four, from low-income families for pre-school.

RIO GRANDE CITY, RGV – It's a sign of just how much the Starr County economy has grown when its economic development leaders can be blasé about an investment of $50 million.

WASHINGTON— Congressmen Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) and Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announced a $929,800 grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education to South Texas College (STC) through their Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Grant program.The college will receive a $232,450.00 yearly grant over the next four years, totaling $929,800.00 in federal funds. The grant was funded through the fiscal year 2018 omnibus appropriation bill, which funds the government for the remainder of the fiscal year.
