KLEBERG COUNTY, TEXAS– Last week, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) announced that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will invest $1.2 billion for the development of the nation’s first two commercial-scale direct air capture facilities. One of the facilities will be built in Kleberg County, Texas, and is slated to receive up to $600 million for its development.

This comprehensive act increased healthcare access for our veterans who have been exposed to potentially harmful toxins, and finally gave them the care that they deserve.

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) celebrated multiple federal transportation grants benefiting rural communities throughout the 34thCongressional District of Texas. The federal grants, in addition to state funding, were awarded to several local rural transit agencies, counties, organizations and cities by the Texas Transportation Commission.

Harlingen, Texas– Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) announced $1.6 million in grant funding to the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) for the development and construction of an industrial park. The grant is provided by the U.S. Department of Commerce through the Economic Development Administration (EDA).

WASHINGTON D.C.– Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded $37 million to the state of Texas as part of Operation Stonegarden (OPSG) for Fiscal Year 2023, a longstanding effort to increase overall border security. Of that funding, more than $11 million is slated to support law enforcement in every county in the 34th Congressional District of Texas.
