Trump and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator William B. Long requesting federal support and relief to Texas' Rio Grande Valley and Coastal bend regions. This week, these areas have suffered unprecedented severe weather and flooding, leaving many residents in desperate need of federal aid.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended a Flash Flood Watch throughout the Rio Grande Valley until 7:00 p.m. CT on Thursday, June 21, 2018.

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) spoke on the House Floor to condemn the U.S. Departments of Justice (DOJ), Homeland Security (DHS), and Health and Human Services' (HHS) separation of families at the U.S.-Mexico border.
"This ‘zero-tolerance' policy is un-American," Congressman Gonzalez said. "It needs to end now."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service partnership intended to engage more military veterans in farming and ranching. This program will assist veterans applying for FSA direct farm ownership loans, ultimately leading to advancements of land and capital.
Given that the U.S. Department of Labor reports that 45 percent of armed service members reside in rural America, the program will be highly beneficial for veterans in South Texas looking to start a new chapter.
