WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) is pleased to announce that 10 students from the 15th District of Texas have received offers to attend the U.S. Service Academies. These academies include the: U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. (West Point); U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.; U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md; and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.
WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ) Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) is now accepting applications for three grants to improve state and local law enforcement agencies' ability to address community issues and combat drug abuse and distribution.

WASHINGTON – Congressmen Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) and John Faso (NY-19) announced the introduction of H.R. 5618, The Flooded Homeowner Financial Relief Act of 2018. This legislation will provide regulatory relief for homeowners who face onerous and unnecessary flood insurance premiums on homes that the government has already agreed to acquire.
WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the McAllen Vet Center Mobile Unit will be stationed at the Edinburg Conference Center for three days, starting today. WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that NeighborWorks America, an organization funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, has awarded a $431,000 grant to Affordable Homes of South Texas, Inc. Affordable Homes of South Texas will use the funds to promote affordable housing, revitalize neighborhoods, and spur job growth in Texas.
WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is accepting applications for the Rural Broadband Access Loan and Loan Guarantee Program. Created by the 2002 Farm Bill and reauthorized in the 2014 Farm Bill, these loans assist eligible rural communities construct, improve, and extend the reach of vital broadband infrastructure.
WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting applications for Telemedicine grants. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, June 4, 2018.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) almost $250,000 in federal funding for the Symposium for Advancing STEM Latinas in Academic Careers. The federal funds will be made available to UTRGV on August 1, 2018.
