WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) voted to keep the government funded and running. The continuing resolution passed Thursday night by a vote of 230 Yeas to 197 Nays in the U.S. House of Representatives. The congressman's support comes in response to the inclusion of a 6-year reauthorization of the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which would guarantee health insurance for thousands of children in South Texas.

WASHINGTONCongressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today issued the following statement applauding Guatemala's decision to follow the United States in moving its nation's embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Guatemala is the only other country to announce its intention to relocate its embassy and recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions urging him not to proceed with a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) request to reinstate a question regarding citizenship in the 2020 Census questionnaire. On December 12, 2017, the DOJ's Justice Management Division wrote to Dr. Ron Jarmin, Acting Director of the U.S. Census Bureau, asking that the Bureau include the question in the questionnaire for the Decennial Census.

The congressman encourages eligible applicants in the 15th District of Texas to apply before the application period closes at 5 p.m. EST on Friday, February 2, 2018.

EDINBURG, Texas - Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) invites all eligible U.S. military veterans to apply for the Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program. The fellow will be placed in the Congressman's Edinburg District Office for two years.

"With a Wounded Warrior Fellow on our team, we will be able to better connect with and serve veterans in the 15th District," Congressman Gonzalez said. "I am excited to be participating in this important program and welcome qualified veterans to apply."
