WASHINGTON – Last week, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) sent a letter to President Joe Biden raising questions regarding the Administration's promise to refill the over 180 million barrels of oil in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).

"Failing to replenish the SPR is a matter of national security and has paved the way for OPEC+ to manage the oil cycle undermining domestic producers and wasting a powerful non- monetary tool to fight inflation," Congressman Gonzalez states in the letter.
