Congressman Gonzalez Announces Over $21.2 Million in Federal Funding for Communities in South Texas from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) announced that local communities in the 34th District of Texas will receive a total of $21,277,764 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Office of Community Planning and Development's (CPD) annual formula grants.
"Housing is a basic necessity, and everyone should be afforded the opportunity to live in a safe, reliable home," stated Congressman Gonzalez. "Funding opportunities like these allows our cities and counties to collaborate with community organizations to address and supply basic needs for families across South Texas."
Allocations include programs like the Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG).
The total allocations have been provided to the following South Texas cities and counties:
