Congressman Gonzalez Secures Commitment from White House and DHS to Fix Broken Rio Grande Valley Levee
MCALLEN, Texas – After extensive conversations with senior White House and Department of Homeland Security officials, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that he successfully secured a commitment from the Biden administration to fix the levees in the Rio Grande Valley within days of sending a letter to President Biden.
“I’m pleased that we’ve reached an agreement with the Biden administration to fix the broken levees,” said Congressman Gonzalez. “It’s imperative that these structures are fixed prior to hurricane season. Anything less is unacceptable. I’ll continue working with the Biden administration to ensure that the people of South Texas are heard and we see tangible results. I look forward to meeting and addressing some of the outstanding issues impacting constituents in my district and our border communities.”
