CONGRESSMAN VICENTE GONZALEZ: CHILD TAX CREDIT DELIVERED $54,200,000 IN TAX CUTS TO SOUTH TEXAS FAMILIES IN AUGUST
WASHINGTON— Congressman Vincente Gonzalez (TX-15) released a new report from the Joint Economic Committee today estimating that 98,000 Child Tax Credit monthly payments were sent to families in the 15th Congressional District in August. A total of $54,200,000 in tax cuts went back in the pockets of hardworking South Texas families.
Statewide, 3,601,000 monthly tax cut payments, totaling $1.594 billion, went to families in August. The average payment was $433.
Nationwide, the Joint Economic Committee estimates the Child Tax Credit tax cuts are pumping $19.3 billion into local economies each month, supporting local jobs and businesses.
“This historic tax cut is empowering hardworking families in our region,” said Congressman Vicente Gonzalez. “Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, child care, transportation, groceries, school supplies, and the ability continue growing our local economy are no longer out of reach.”
