Congressman Gonzalez Statement Regarding President’s Proposed Veteran’s Affairs Budget

WASHINGTON– Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today issued the following statement about the proposed cuts to disabled veterans benefits in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2018:

"It is evident that we must do more to support those who fought to protect our country and our values— especially those who are elderly and disabled," said Congressman Gonzalez. "The President promised that he would make veteran's benefits a priority, but unfortunately these cuts renege on that promise. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the House and the Senate to ensure that these cuts do not become reality and that veterans in Texas and across the country receive the care they need and rightly deserve."
