Congressman Gonzalez Statement Following Testimony of Ambassador Yovanovitch

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) released a statement following the testimony of Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence:

"Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch is a decorated career foreign service officer and dedicated public servant. I am grateful for her testimony that highlighted the toxic nature of the President's influence on the State Department and our foreign policy. I am deeply concerned by the President's attempts to intimidate Ambassador Yovanovitch prior to today's hearing and while on national television," said Congressman Gonzalez. "It is clear that President Trump's continued efforts to undermine, demonize, and threaten those who disagree with him are a liability to American interests abroad. Today's testimony was a powerful reminder we must hold corruption to account. I am eager to hear from the other witnesses before making any determination regarding my vote for impeachment."
