Congressman Gonzalez Statement Following House Vote on Impeachment

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued a statement following the House of Representatives vote on H.Res. 775 to Impeach President Donald J. Trump.

"Today is a solemn day for our country and the 15th District of Texas," said Congressman Gonzalez. "I did not come to Congress to impeach a president, but the facts are clear and convincing. I am obligated by my oath of office to defend our constitution and democracy. Today will go down in history but tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow, we will resume our work to lower prescription drug costs, to fight for debt-free education, to ensure care for our seniors, our veterans, and those with special needs. I will continue to keep my promise to those in the 15th District of Texas to do all that I can to improve their quality of life as tomorrow is a new day and our work does not cease."
