Congressman Gonzalez Statement on Biden Administration’s Pause on Border Wall Construction

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued a statement on the Biden administration's executive order to halt border wall construction:

"President Biden has taken bold and necessary action to reevaluate our southern border security strategy. Bipartisan majorities in Congress agreed that a medieval wall was not the solution for a 21st Century problem. President Biden on day one terminated the fake national emergency that was used to justify the funding diversions from critical military projects for a useless wall. I welcome President Biden's pause on all wall construction projects to allow for a close review of the legality of the funding, contracting methods used and to determine the best way to redirect funds that were diverted by the prior Administration to fund wall construction."
