“I would like to thank Congressman Green for putting this event together and the entire Texas Delegation.
Nothing could make me more proud than to see the amazing display of unity Texas has shown America today.
I certainly hope this unity continues throughout our Congress and that we can spread this throughout our country.
Our hearts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Florida and in the Caribbean.
I’m in the Rio Grande Valley—our district didn’t get hit much, but we are reaching out to our brothers and sisters on the coastal bend, in Houston, Corpus Christi, and up and down the coast.
Today, we are all Texans.
Today, we are not Democrats and we are not Republicans.
We are only Texans.
Thank you very much.”
