Congressman Gonzalez Secures $125,273,000 for Central and South Texas Schools in American Rescue Plan

March 12, 2021

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced he helped secure $125,273,000 in federal funds as part of the American Rescue Plan for Central and South Texas Title I schools in the 15th District of Texas.

These funds come after state and local education leaders across the country expressed the urgent need for more resources to cope with the pandemic. The nearly $130 billion in K-12 funding from the American Rescue Plan will help districts safely reopen schools for in-person instruction and address the difficult, multi-year challenge of helping students make up for lost time in the classroom.

"These funds are intended to help reopen schools and provide a safe and healthy learning environment for students, teachers, administrators and our essential workers," said Congressman Gonzalez.
