Congressman Gonzalez Secures 1,170 Doses of the Pfizer Vaccine for City of Schertz

MCALLEN, Texas – Following Congressman Vicente Gonzalez's (TX-15) letter to Texas Governor Abbott requesting an increase vaccine allocations to the City of Schertz Emergency Management Services (EMS), the Texas Department of State Health Services provided 1,170 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

Working with the City of Schertz EMS and local officials, Congressman Gonzalez advocated on behalf of a plan that would help administer an at least 1,000 additional vaccines per day.

"This is great news for the City of Schertzand Central Texans," said Congressman Gonzalez. "I will continue working to help state and local officials secure vaccines and to encourage the inoculation of our vulnerable populations. Anyone who is eligible to receive a vaccine should register as soon as it's their turn."
