September 20, 2017

EDINBURG, TX—This week, representatives from the Office of Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) will meet with McAllen City Mayor Jim Darling, Edinburg City Manager Richard Hinojosa, U.S. Federal Judge Ricardo H. Hinojosa, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Manuel Padilla, and other local leaders.

"Part of my job as a congressman is to bring stakeholders together and find solutions to issues facing our community," Congressman Gonzalez said. "If constituents do not have the time or resources to visit Washington, I will ensure our staff is available to them. Together, we will address day-to-day challenges in South Texas for the betterment of our communities. Our staff will listen, interact, and learn from everyone in the 15th District and take valuable insights to Capitol Hill. Our end game is simple: to better serve those we represent."

During the visit, from September 19 to 22, Congressman Gonzalez's staff will take part in several meetings and engage with local elected officials to fully understand the issues facing the 15th District. Staff will also meet with RGV Border Patrol Sector Chief Padilla at the Falfurrias Border Patrol Station and learn more about the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process at the border patrol station.

The legislative staff includes: Senior Legislative Assistant Louise Bentsen, Legislative Counsel Fred Castro, District Director Roberto Villareal, and Outreach Coordinator Albert Martinez.
