Congressman Gonzalez Releases Update on Constituent Casework During Transition
BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) released the following statement updating his efforts to serve the people of South Texas:
"One of my most sacred duties as a Member of Congress is to serve my constituents. My office and I do this by advocating for South Texans and helping them cut through bureaucratic red tape with federal agencies.
"I recently learned that former Congresswoman Mayra Flores went back on her word and failed to transfer constituent casework to my office. This casework ranges from helping people obtain their passports to assuring our veterans receive the benefits they earned while serving our country. This is a grave disservice to the people of the 34th Congressional District of Texas and I intend to help everyone who was affected by this.
"I encourage anyone who previously had a case with the office of former Congresswoman Flores to contact my office if you have a pending Congressional case before a federal agency. I am extremely disheartened that the former Congresswoman did not prioritize the needs of South Texans as I did when I transitioned from the 15th District to the 34th District."
Constituents of the 34th Congressional District of Texas who previously held a case with the former Congresswoman are welcome to call the office of Congressman Vicente Gonzalez at 956-682-5545 or visit gonzalez.house.gov.
