CONGRESSMAN GONZALEZ REACTS TO IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT USING MILITARY SERVICE WHEN DETERMINING DEPORTATION
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) released the following statement in reaction to the announcement from Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) that that military service will be taken into consideration when determining the deportation of an undocumented person:
"The brave men and women who served our country honorably should not be subject to deportation. Today's announcement that Immigration and Customs Enforcement will use an individual's military service as a determining factor in deportation proceedings is a critical step to assure our service members can stay in the only country they call home. I appreciate today's announcement and will continue fighting to pass my Repatriate Our Patriots Act."
Congressman Gonzales continues to fight that those who have served in our country's military are not subject to deportation. More information on H.R.4382, the Repatriate Our Patriots Act is available here.
