CONGRESSMAN GONZALEZ REACTS TO HORRIFIC MIGRANT DEATHS, CALLS FOR IMMIGRATION REFORM FROM CONGRESS

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) released the following statement regarding the deaths of over 46 migrants that were found inside a tractor-trailor in San Antonio:

"Seeking a better life in the U.S. should not be a death sentence. I join in praying for the victims and families of this horrific tragedy and those being treated in the hospital. It is past time for Congress to pass immigration reform legislation that offers immigrants a pathway to citizenship, keeps our Border Patrol officers safe, ensures local governments and immigration courts have adequate resources to address migration, and punishes human traffickers to the fullest extent possible. This must end."
