WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) has issued the following statement following the passing of Vietnam War veteran and U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

"Senator John McCain epitomized patriotism during his 60 years of service to the American people. From the battlefields to the halls of Congress, Senator McCain was a true public servant who carried himself with dignity and civility. This nation is forever indebted to his strength, perseverance, and selflessness. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, constituents in Arizona, friends, colleagues, and loved ones this week as we mourn the loss of this American hero."
