WASHINGTON— Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) voted in favor of H.Res. 502, which includes $7.85 billion in supplemental appropriations for Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts. The Harvey disaster package matches the Administration's request submitted to Congressional leadership on Friday. The legislation passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a 419-3 vote.

"Today the House came together to support those affected by Harvey," Congressman Gonzalez said. "I call on my colleagues in the Senate to take immediate action and send the bill to the president's desk without delay."

The Harvey disaster package won the support of Democrats and Republicans. The amendment was introduced by Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, and co-sponsored by Congresswoman Nita M. Lowey (D-NY), ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee.
