Congressman Gonzalez Issues Statement on President Trump’s Joint Press Conference with Vladimir Putin

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued the following statement in response to President Donald J. Trump's failure to act in the interest of American security during a joint press conference in Helsinki with Russian President Vladimir Putin:

"It would be my hope that the president would display greater strength and resolve when side-by-side with a foreign leader who has actively threatened our national security and the integrity of our electoral process. Ahead of the 2018 elections, it is crucial that both Congress and the administration hold the Russian government accountable for meddling in the 2016 elections that destabilized the world order."
