Congressman Gonzalez Issues Statement on Explosion at FedEx Facility in Schertz, Texas

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued the following statement in response to the explosion at a FedEx delivery facility in Schertz, Texas, that left one injured and is suspected to be connected to the serial bombings in Austin, Texas.

"I was deeply troubled to learn about the explosion in Schertz early this morning, but am relieved that reported injuries were non-life-threatening," Congressman Gonzalez said. "I am grateful for the brave first responders who acted quickly to address the situation. I strongly urge all who live and work in Austin, and the surrounding areas, to remain alert and exercise caution at this time. Rest assured that I will continue to be in contact with the local law enforcement, the FBI, and other state and federal law enforcement agencies as more information becomes available."

Congressman Gonzalez is one of several members of Congress who represents Schertz, Texas, in the U.S. House of Representatives.
