WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) has announced that he will be hosting: A Day of Interfaith Dialogue and Understanding on Capitol Hill, a religious summit, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. EST in the Senate Visitor Center, Room 201-00.

Discussions will focus on how Congress and the federal government can engage with faith communities to tackle our nation's most pressing issues.

"It is an honor to host such a diverse group of religious leaders here in Washington," Congressman Gonzalez said. "Those of us in Congress are contemplating some of the same questions as these dedicated individuals and this summit could not come at a more opportune time. I am pleased to welcome them to Congress and look forward to finding common ground on the issues that matter most to those we serve."

Planned panels for the discussion will include:

  • Prayer in Schools: The Intersection of Faith and Education
  • Immigration Reform: What Can and Should be Done?
  • Supporting our Churches' Social Work: Unifying Members of Congress with the Faith Community's Needs

Congressman Gonzalez hopes the summit will facilitate greater cooperation across faiths, party lines, and regions.
