Congressman Gonzalez to Honor the Contributions of Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law to the Hispanic Community

WASHINGTON—Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) will host a reception to honor the contributions of Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law to the Hispanic community. The reception will take place during Hispanic Heritage Month on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, from 4-6 p.m. ET in the Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2045, Washington, D.C.

"As we celebrate the achievements and contributions of the Hispanic community during Hispanic Heritage Month, I wanted to honor Texas Southern University," Congressman Gonzalez said. "I invite all alumni and friends of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law to join me as we applaud the school's unwavering commitment to aspiring and practicing Hispanic lawyers in Texas and across the nation."

Congressman Gonzalez will present Thurgood Marshall School of Law with an honorary plaque to commend the institution for its efforts to educate and prepare Hispanic students for the legal profession.

Congressman Gonzalez will be joined by honorary hosts: Congressman Gene Green (TX-29), Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18), Congressman Al Green (TX-09) and Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) to show thanks to the law school located in Houston, Texas.
