Congressman Gonzalez Congratulates Class of 2022 Service Academy Graduates from the 15th District of Texas
McALLEN, Texas – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced the first class of Service Academy graduates from the 15th District of Texas. Congressman Gonzalez nominated these individuals in 2018 and they subsequently accepted offers to attend the U.S. Service Academies. These academies include the: U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. (West Point); U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.; U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.; and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.
"I am extremely proud to announce that these amazing young, aspiring leaders have graduated from these prestigious institutions. Each graduate now starts their military career as a commissioned officer, heading to their first active-duty assignment, serving in our nation's armed forces", stated Congressman Gonzalez. "These young leaders embody the values that military service instills in our service men and women: humility, leadership, loyalty, and a strong work ethic. It is an honor to be able to say that these young people are from South Texas, and I look forward to the amazing leaders they will become."
The 2022 Service Academy graduates are:
· LeAllen Buerger III (Seguin) Graduated from the Military Academy at WestPoint
· Corbin Deviney (Sandia) Graduated from the Naval Academy at Annapolis.
· Trevor Foutz (Cibolo) Graduated from Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.
· Dylan Stanley (Edinburg) Graduated from Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.
Applicants need to be of appropriate age, have an aptitude for leadership, and possess the commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.
