Congressman Gonzalez Concludes the 2nd Annual RGV2DC Fly-In

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) would like to thank the 40 community leaders and stakeholders from the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) that traveled to Washington, D.C. for the Second Annual RGV2DC fly-in.
RGV2DC attendees met with Members of Congress, including Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), Congressman Beto O'Rourke (TX-16), and federal agency officials to promote economic growth and job creation across the Rio Grande Valley.
The delegation also attended the Wilson Center's Mexico Institute Border Trade Alliance Conference.
"I would like to thank all attendees of this year's RGV2DC fly-in," Congressman Gonzalez said. "It was an honor to welcome these leaders to the nation's capital. The Rio Grande Valley is privileged to have so many driven and dedicated individuals at the helm, working to make our region a priority for Members of Congress and federal agency officials."
"The diverse group of business and community leaders that were part of RGV2DC took the charge at the Capitol to promote business expansion, education, healthcare, international trade, port of entry upgrades for our local communities," RGV Partnership President and CEO, Sergio Contreras said. "The RGV Partnership and our attendees are grateful to the office of Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), Congressmen Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Filemon Vela (D-TX), Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX), Beto O'Rourke (D-TX) for meeting with us and helping us facility meetings with key federal agencies. The RGV Partnership will continue to collaborate with the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council as we engage with Members of Congress to advocate for our regions priorities."

Mayor of McAllen, Jim Darling; elected officials from Mission, Pharr, and Brownsville; as well as senior leadership from the RGV Partnership, University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, South Texas College, and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council are among those who will be joining this year's RGV2DC.
