President’s Announcement Comes on the Heels of Gonzalez’s Recent Letter Calling for an Executive Order to Allow Businesses to Sponsor Undocumented Workers with No Criminal Record

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today [originally released on Saturday, July 5, 2025], Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) applauded President Trump for taking steps to save the American workforce and help South Texas businesses that continue to be starved for labor due to the administration’s mass deportation agenda.

“While details are still emerging about this program, I am relieved to see the President heeding mine and others’ calls to keep American businesses – particularly those in the agriculture, construction, and hospitality sectors - afloat ,” said Congressman Gonzalez. “I look forward to seeing a more formal announcement soon and working with the administration and local South Texas businesses to assure they can continue operating.”
