CONGRESSMAN GONZALEZ ANNOUNCES WINNER OF 2022 CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION

MCALLEN, TEXAS – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) has announced that Cindy Fraire, a student at Edinburg North High School, is the winner of the 2022 Congressional Art Competition. Cindy's winning piece, "Home of the Brave", will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

Art Competition winners will also be awarded a trip to Washington D.C. and will be eligible to receive a $3,000 art scholarship to attend to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), should they apply and be accepted for enrollment.

"I would like to congratulate Cindy on this extraordinary piece of art," stated Congressman Gonzalez. "Cindy is one of many young, talented South Texas artists who submitted artworks and I encourage all of them to continue creating and displaying their work. I look forward to hosting Cindy in Washington, D.C. and displaying her piece inside the U.S. Capitol."
