January 30, 2019

WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) today announced his subcommittee assignments for the 116th Congress. The congressman serves on the House Financial Services Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee.

As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Congressman Gonzalez will serve on:

  • the Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets;
  • the Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development and Insurance; and
  • the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion.

"I am proud to join these subcommittees and work with my colleagues to enact fiscally-responsible policies that promote economic growth and job creation in Central and South Texas," Congressman Gonzalez said. "As a former small business owner, it remains my mission in Congress to craft legislation that benefits American consumers; protects seniors and military servicemembers from financial exploitation; and balances the needs of taxpayers, businesses, and regional and community financial institutions."

As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Gonzalez will serve on:

  • the Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security, and Trade; and
  • the Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, Energy, and the Environment.

"Central and South Texans will have a voice as we tackle some of the most pressing issues affecting Latin America, Europe, and Eurasia," Congressman Gonzalez said. "Congress has a responsibility to enact legislation that can better stabilize trade and energy relations with key foreign allies, provide economic opportunity and civilian security in lower developed countries, and promote diplomatic solutions to widespread global concerns. I am eager to bring our perspective to the table, learn from my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, and pass legislation that promotes peace and prosperity around the world."
