Congressman Gonzalez Announces Extension of the Good Jobs Challenge Application Period 

McAllen, Texas – On Wednesday, January 5th, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that the Economic Development Administration's (EDA) has extended the application period for its "Good Jobs Challenge" until Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. EST/ 10:59 p.m. CST.

Established by the American Rescue Plan Act, the Good Jobs Challenge aims to strengthen systems and partnerships with employers to train workers with in-demand skills that lead to good-paying jobs. This program will allocate $500 million to implement industry-led skills training programs, specifically focused on historically underserved communities and groups.

"This program will help get Americans back to work and equip them to succeed in their respective career fields," said Congressman Gonzalez. "This is a fantastic program that every South Texas employer should take advantage of."
