Congressman Gonzalez Announces Appointment of Valley Native to Coordinating Council On Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention

Judge Renee Rodriguez-Betancourt to Serve as Practitioner Member

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that Judge Renee Rodriguez-Betancourt has been appointed to serve as a Practitioner Member of the Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Judge Rodriguez-Betancourt currently serves in the 449th District Court of Texas, a position she has held for nearly five years. The 449th Court was established in 2008 to specialize in the processing of juvenile cases.

The Coordinating Council is an independent organization within the executive branch that makes recommendations to the President and Congress every year on how federal juvenile delinquency programs and other programs at the federal level can be coordinated across all levels of government to best serve at-risk youth.
