September 20, 2021

Washington – Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced a $2,274,088 award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the National Church Residences in Seguin, Texas. This funding will support the construction of 14 affordable low-income housing units for elderly individuals.

The grant is a part of HUD's section 202: Supportive Housing for the Elderly Program. Which provides capital advances to private, nonprofit sponsors to finance the development of housing for very low-income elderly residents.

"Our seniors have supported and helped form the community we love and live in today. It is our turn to give back and ensure they are taken care of and have access to adequate housing," said Congressman Gonzalez. "I am proud to secure this funding for the National Church Residences that will aid in the creation of 14 new houses for our Seguin residents.
