Congressman Gonzalez Announces $179,999 in NSF Funding for Scientific Research at UTRGV

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced $179,999 in National Science Foundation (NSF) awards for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). This federal award will jumpstart the "RUI: Point Configurations in Euclidean Spaces, Spheres, and Discrete Spaces" project which willstudy scientific shapes and formations under certain conditions.

The project is meant to reach a wide audience of undergraduate studentsthroughcollaboration with the Center of Excellence in STEM Education at UTRGV. The goals of the Center are focused on strengthening STEM academic programs and increasing the number of STEM graduates, particularly those from underrepresented groups.
