Edcouch-Elsa ISD Welcomes Congressman Vicente Gonzalez

February 12, 2018

Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) joined the Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District (ISD) leadership to announce that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has approved a $8,540,000 loan for Edcouch-Elsa ISD to construct a new Career and Technology Program building and a maintenance facility building.

"South Texas is home to a robust vocational and trade industry that requires the very best from its professionals," Congressman Gonzalez said. "Thanks to this loan from the USDA, students in the Edcouch-Elsa ISD Career and Technology Program will be sufficiently prepared to pursue a career in welding, construction supervision, agriculture, or automotive repair."

Also in attendance was Texas House of Representatives for House District 35
Oscar Longoria. Thank you to everyone who made this endeavor possible for all our students here at Edcouch-Elsa ISD.
