CONGRESSMAN GONZALEZ ANNOUNCES OVER $12.5 MILLION IN PRELIMINARY TITLE I ALLOCATIONS FOR SOUTH AND CENTRAL TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICTS
WASHINGTON – Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced South and Central Texas school districts in the 15th District of Texas are projected to receive a total of $12,501,168 in Title I funding for Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22). These amounts are preliminary Title I formula allocations for Local Educational Agencies (LEA). Final allocation totals will be released by the U.S. Department of Education in June 2022.
Title I funding provides for the expansion and development of educational programs that are fair and equal for all students. These funds also support opportunities for student and teacher success.
"Title I funds give students access to the resources they need to be successful inside and outside the classroom," stated Congressman Gonzalez. "As we rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic, school districts need all the help they can to offer opportunities to every child in the 15th District of Texas."
The following preliminary allocations have been provided to LEA's in the 15th District:
· BenavidesISD: $201,699 |
· Brooks County ISD: $1,296,450 |
· Falls City ISD: $89,984 |
· Floresville ISD: $867,639 |
· Freer ISD: 298,501 |
· George West ISD: $416,840 |
· Jim Hogg County ISD: $644,684 |
· Karnes City ISD: $255,830 |
· La Vernia ISD: $287,941 |
· Marion ISD: $183,895 |
· Mathis ISD: $1,053,281 |
· Navarro ISD: $181,426 |
· Nixon-Smiley Consolidated ISD: $389,652 |
· Poth ISD: $60,492 |
· Ramirez ISD: $28,331 |
· Runge ISD: $99,931 |
· San Diego ISD: $741,657 |
· Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD: $1,314,461 |
· Seguin ISD: $2,308,169 |
· Stockdale ISD: $187,263 |
· Three Rivers ISD: $205,316 |
The U.S. Department of Education expects to release final allocations in June of this year. Final numbers will differ from the preliminary allocations because of updates to the annually collected counts of children in locally operated institutions for neglected or delinquent children, in foster homes, and in families above the Census poverty line that receive assistance under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program (non-Census formula children's data) and to LEA finance data used in the Education Finance Incentive Grants formula. There may be additional differences if a State were to report revisions to its State Per-Pupil Expenditure (SPPE) data.
Congressman Gonzalez continues to be an advocate for every child in the 15th District of Texas and will work to bring additional funding to schools across South Texas.
