WASHINGTON— Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced the formation of the Congressional Oil & Gas Caucus, a Congressional Member Organization dedicated to educating Members of Congress about issues related to the production, transport, refining, distribution, and trade of oil, gas, and other petroleum hydrocarbons including crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids.
President Donald Trump’s actions and rhetoric regarding immigration and the U.S.-Mexico border have led some South Texas lawmakers to urge him to spend time in the Rio Grande Valley.

He is one of only a handful of Democrats in the country to meet with the President.
During the meeting, Congressman Gonzalez and President Trump spoke about infrastructure modernization, border security, tax reform, and repatriating deported veterans back to the United States.

While the Choice Act provides some regulatory relief for community banks, regional banks and credit unions, which he supports, the bill does not offer the amount of reform needed to truly benefit local financial institutions.
On Thursday, June 8, 2017, Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, Member of the House Financial Services Committee, spoke on the House Floor addressing his concerns with the CHOICE Act.
