    In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is providing Disaster loans to businesses, private non-profit organizations, homeowners, and renters. There are three types of disaster loans available through SBA: Business Physical Disaster Loans, Economic Injury Disaster Loans, and Home Disaster Loans. Your respective counties are designated disaster areas and are eligible for the Economic Injury Disaster Loans. Below is the description provided by SBA: Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) – Working capital loans to help small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster. These loans are intended to assist through the disaster recovery period. The filing deadline for EIDLs is May 25, 2018. Attached, is an announcement provide by the Small Business Administration.   • Congressman Gonzalez Starts Oil & Gas Caucus in U.S. House

    Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced the formation of the Congressional Oil & Gas Caucus, a Congressional Member Organization dedicated to educating Members of Congress about issues related to the production, transport, refining, distribution, and trade of oil, gas, and other petroleum hydrocarbons including crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. The Congressman will serve as chair of the newly-formed caucus and hopes to quickly grow the group’s membership. As chair, Congressman Gonzalez will serve as an advocate about the economic benefits of fully harnessing the country’s natural resources.
